This is from a woman in my yahoo group, Julia Sharp, who does rescue work in KY. Thought I would forward. Please crosspost to anyone who might want a perfectly good companion animal
-- or who might know someone who does. I know, there are pounds all over the country. This is just one.
Every time someone purchases animals from breeders or pet stores, one of these poor guys dies. Probably more. And for those who can't bring themselves to spay or neuter, the end result is the same. Why are animals so disposable?
Don't worry, these are just pictures of dogs. Nothing gross -- they are still alive and waiting for a home.

From Julia Sharp:
I just left the Morehead, KY, Rowan County Dog pound. I'm still shaking. I thought I was going to pass out when I saw what is there. I took the mini pincher out.
This place is one hour east of Lexington on i-64 KY
The pictures here do not even begin to show how many dogs we have.

There are at best guess 60 to 70 dogs there right now with 15 in the drop box yet to be processed. Big dogs, little dogs, dogs in between, old and young, and most will die to make room.
There is a hound there that Jenny said is the best dog in the world. She had him at her house for a few days. She is doing everythig possible to help these dogs but with the HUGE volume, she can't do it all. I have no room at my house and our other rescuers in town have no room.

Jenny said 65 dogs died last euth day. That was a week and half ago.
*****Please, rescues, help us. I'm going to have nightmares tonight. I still have the beagle that was going to be shot at my vets that needs a home too.
